Stanimir (from the village of Kremna on the mountain Tara) and his companion, ninety-three-year-old war veteran Spasoje, experience different things on their way to the city. The mentalities of past times and today are illumined. Two old men progress peacefully and wisely, through gains and losses, towards the outskirts of the city which can only prove a disappointment to their honesty. They reach the heart of the city and its offices, which symbolize the triumphant bureaucracy. Still, their patience and readiness to face with all surprises and events life brings triumph over everything. |
