An enormous hydro-power plant is being under construction on river Drina, where for hundred years a tradition of floating the logs has been kept: timber was transported downstream to reach Belgrade. It was a dangerous profession, allowing only skilled and experienced men to be in business.

This new construction work unites two heroes of the story: Bogdan, one of the last Drina rafters, and Dragoljub, one of the oldest sappers, who took part in dam construction throughout the world.

This film tells a story of their long lives, their joys and discontents, friendship which arose in a shadow of the giant dam.
